What do I do? I uplift, affirm, and inspire.
Uplift - like the young bride who came in to view her bridal portraits and with tears in her eyes, softly said, "I'm pretty. I didn't know I was pretty. I've never seen myself as pretty before."
Affirm - like the young mom who arranged a multi-generation portrait for her family. A month later her dad lost his battle with cancer. She says every time she looks at their portrait she's reminded of his love. His love, her family values are affirmed.
Inspire - like the cancer survivors I photograph who celebrate life like no one else. Who have the opportunity to have a portrait made with those who helped them in their fight, and to encourage them to live life to its fullest and continue to celebrate.
Relationships. It's all about relationships. It's about how I relate to my clients, and it's about how you relate to those around you. It's about your family relationships. It's about love. If love abounds, relationships will be right. If relationships are strong, love has a track on which to flow from one person to another. My passion is not so much for photography as it is for people. Photography is the tool I use to enrich the lives of people.
As for photography itself, "I love natural light." I love artificial light, too. "Natural" light isn't all it's cracked up to be. And most photographers who tout their love for natural light, love it because they don't know how to properly use light modifiers like diffusers, reflectors, and detractors or supplements like flash or studio strobes. I just love light. I like to work with it, see it, use it, create with it. It's the paint for my art.
And, I assist.
It's my desire to assist you to become happily involved with an appropriately sized portrait that will uplift, affirm, and/or inspire you and those you love. It may be something small for a photo album, desk or coffee table, or something adequate to go over the fireplace, love seat or sofa - whatever would best meet your needs.
