Bridal

Standing near the edge of the cliff, amidst the boulders with an incredible panorama in the background, and the most beautiful view of all to the young groom is his bride.

Artistically, it's about contrast -- beauty and elegance of bride and groom in formal clothing in a setting of rugged natural beauty.

Emotionally, it's about heritage.  It's about their love for one another.  Mt. Scott was one of Adam's favorite places.  Rock climbing was a hobby.  Now, Julie is his greatest joy.  This portrait brought the two "loves" together -- documenting their love for one another, and especially her becoming his true love!

At a time when many professional photographers are getting out of the wedding business, why do we still photograph weddings?

Trish and I didn't consider photography important when we got married, believe it or not.  We were married in a chapel of 1st Baptist Church Euless, TX.  We have relatively small families.  Our parents, my brother, her sisters were there, along with a few close friends.  We had no attendants.  It was just the two of us.  We entered together, with the minister, through a side door.  It was a very simple ceremony.  Someone thought to bring rice to throw as we left the church.  Then we went back to the house I was renting, where we would be living, and had a brief reception with family, and maybe a smaller few of the few friends who attended the wedding.  Someone thought to get a cake (that also served as a birthday cake for Trish's oldest sister), and some other snacks, paper cups & plates, etc.  Talk about a small wedding.

My dad was an advanced amateur photographer.  He took a few snap shots.  We wound up with copies of some of them.  He and Mom have several.  Dad captured a couple of candids during the ceremony that reflect some of the emotion of the day.  Beyond that, we have no pictures of the two of us together (except one photo taken next to the wall in the living room at the house), no album, no framed pictures, no pictures with family, none with friends.  It has been probably our one regret of the day.  There are a few candids that show some of the family, but nothing that shows any of our friends that were there.  These were people who cared enough about us to give up New Years Day Sunday afternoon to come be part of the most important moment in our lives.

That's why we are still doing weddings.  It's why we work so hard to give you the best wedding pictures possible and to capture the love and emotion of the most important moment in your lives.
